It is now showing at Foothills Art Center through December 2012.

This painting showed at the 50th Glenwood Springs Fall Art Festival, September 25-30th, 2012. 

It is a great show with fabulous art!  This is a show not to be missed and while you are there, enjoy the amazing Autumn colors and the Hot Springs!  I plan to swim and rejuvenate next weekend!

Blue Mist

Watercolor Landscape by Janis Goldblatt measuring 6x8.5 image, 10x13 frame.

This painting came to me several evenings ago when I could not sleep. 

 

I used a very limited palette of cobalt blue, indigo and avignon orange.  Comprised mainly of 3 values with a lose rendering of shapes, allows  the viewer to fill-in "details" and appreciate a "mood".  The simplicity helps to make this painting "work".

I long to be by the water.
